Privacy Policy
My Business keeps your information in your own hands. Everything you enter stays on your device and syncs through your own private iCloud account, where we — Gold Life LLC, the developer — cannot see it. We never sell your data or use it for advertising. The one exception is the optional card-paymentsfeature: if you turn it on, the app sends the details needed to create a Stripe payment link, as described under “Card payments” below.
What the app stores, and where
The app stores the information you enter — customers, estimates, invoices, receipts, payments, employees, subcontractors, your business profile, and any photos or receipt scans you add — on your device and in your private iCloud (Apple CloudKit). This data is controlled by you and your Apple ID. The developer has no access to it and keeps no copy of it. Payments are recorded only as an amount and a method category (such as cash, check, card, or bank transfer) — the app never stores bank, routing, or account numbers. If you are signed out of iCloud, your data simply stays on your device.
Tax IDs and other sensitive numbers
When you enter a Social Security Number or EIN — for example, to prepare a subcontractor’s IRS Form 1099-NEC — that number is stored in your device’s secure Keychain, protected by the Secure Enclave and your device passcode or biometrics, separately from the rest of your data. If you use iCloud Keychain, it syncs end-to-end encrypted across your own devices. It is never sent to us or to any third party.
Camera and photos
With your permission, the app uses your camera to scan or photograph expense receipts. Any text recognition runs entirely on your device using Apple’s on-device Vision framework.
You can also choose an existing image from your photo library — for example a business logo, a signature, or a customer, employee, or job photo. This uses Apple’s system photo picker, so the app receives only the images you pick and never gains access to the rest of your library.
Any image you capture or add is saved with your data in your iCloud and is never sent to the developer or any third party.
Contacts
With your permission, the app can import a contact into a customer record, or save a customer to your Contacts. This happens on your device. We do not upload, copy, or store your contacts.
Face ID / Touch ID
If you choose to use it, the app uses Face ID or Touch ID (or your device passcode) to lock the app and to protect your most sensitive details — your Tax IDs (SSN/EIN), tax documents such as a W-9 or 1099, and your saved signature — before they are shown, exported, or added to a document. This is handled by Apple on your device; we never receive your biometric data.
No account, no tracking
- There is no separate sign-up — the app uses your existing Apple ID and iCloud.
- The app contains nothird-party analytics, advertising, or tracking of any kind, and we never sell your data. The only information that ever leaves your device is your private iCloud sync and — only if you turn on card payments — the invoice details needed to create a Stripe payment link (see “Card payments” below).
Subscriptions
My Business Pro is sold through Apple’s App Store. Apple processes the payment and manages your subscription; we never receive your card or payment details. Apple’s handling of that transaction is governed by Apple’s own privacy policy.
Card payments (Stripe)
My Business includes an optional feature that lets your customers pay your invoices by card through Stripe. It stays off until you connect a Stripe account, and it is the one part of the app where some information leaves your device.
- Connecting your account. You connect your ownStripe account through Stripe’s secure onboarding. Payments are made to your Stripe account — Gold Life never holds or touches your money.
- What we send. When you send an invoice with a Pay button, the app sends the details needed to create that payment link — the invoice amount, currency, a short description, and an identifier — to our payment service (a Cloudflare Worker operated by Gold Life), which creates the link with Stripe. That service keeps the connected-account identifier and the invoice’s payment status so the app can confirm when it’s paid. We do not receive or store your customer’s name, card number, or bank details.
- How your customer pays.Your customer enters their card on Stripe’s own secure page. Their card details go directly to Stripe and are never seen by the app or by Gold Life.
- Stripe’s role. Stripe processes the payment under your agreement with Stripe and its own privacy policy. Standard Stripe card fees apply; My Business adds no fee of its own.
Sending estimates and invoices
When you send an estimate or invoice, it goes out through your own Mail or Messages app to the recipients you choose. The developer does not transmit, intercept, or store these.
Third parties
Appleis the primary third party — iCloud stores and syncs your data, and the App Store handles subscriptions — under Apple’s own privacy policy. If you turn on card payments, our payment service and Stripeare also involved, as described under “Card payments” above. No other third party receives your data.
Your control and your rights
Because your data lives in your iCloud, you control it: edit or delete any record in the app, and remove the app’s data entirely from iCloud in your device’s iCloud settings. We hold no copy, so there is nothing on our side to access, export, or delete on your behalf.
Children
This app is not directed to children and is rated 4+.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above will reflect any change.
